Pricing changes – 1st November 2026
Here at Smart Clinic, we have always prided ourselves on providing a high-quality service to our clients for a competitive price. This means balancing a number of factors; length of appointments (and the number of appointments our clinicians do per day), operational efficiency, clinical skillsets, appointment availability and quality control are all factors that can positively or negatively impact on price.
Our philosophy has always been to operate the most clinically robust, efficient and pleasant service we can, without being unreasonably expensive. Quality has always been paramount, and we hope from the wonderful feedback and fantastic client relationships we have enjoyed over the years, that this approach has been well-received by clients.
In an industry that is famously short-staffed, and in an economy that places greater financial pressure on businesses, achieving this cost-effectively isn’t straightforward.
We’re very proud at Smart Clinic to have been able to limit the impact on our clients of these economic and industry pressures. Our last price increase was at the beginning of 2023. Ever since then, our prices have remained unchanged, and we have been able to absorb the increasing costs of doing business ourselves so as not to impact on clients.
However even we, from time to time, need to review our pricing to ensure sustainability and longevity of our service.
There is some good news though. We operate five different packages for clients, and 12 different pay-as-you-go services.
We will not be increasing the price for any of our packages this year.
And for nine of our 12 pay-as-you-go services, the price for those won’t change either. For now we will continue to absorb any additional cost ourselves.
However we will need to increase the price for three of our pay-as-you-go services as follows:
| PAYG service | Previous pricing | Updated pricing (Nov 26) |
| Occupational health (nurse) assessments | £140 | £160 |
| Musculoskeletal assessments | £80 | £100 |
| Pre-placement screening assessments | £30 | £35 |
Viewed across the period since our last price review in early 2023, these increases are broadly in line with inflation.
We haven’t taken this decision lightly, and have conducted extensive research against other providers to ensure we are still providing a competitive service. To provide an example, we compared the costs for more than 20 established occupational health providers.
The average price for standard OH nurse appointments is £213 – 33% more expensive than our new pricing.
The average price for complex OH nurse referrals is £261 – 63% more expensive than our updated pricing.
The pattern continues across many of our other services too.
We understand the operational impact that price changes can have so wanted to provide plenty of notice regarding these changes. We can confirm that these won’t take effect until 1st November 2026. Any referrals made prior to that date will remain at your existing pricing.
Thank you for your understanding, and as ever, thank you so much for entrusting Smart Clinic to provide your occupational health service.
